MJVC2024 Lucky Draw Procedure for Malaysia Day Celebration

MJVC follows these criteria to conduct the lucky draw for a return flight ticket to Malaysia effectively and fairly at the Malaysia Day celebration:

  1. Announcement and Explanation: 
    • The theme “Fly Home with Us: Celebrate Malaysia Day at The University of Tokyo!” sets the stage for MJVC 2024 Organizer MJAA’s lucky draw session on September 16, 2024. One lucky participant will win a return flight ticket (worth 100,000 yen) to Malaysia. The draw will take place following the group singing of “NEGARA-KU,” commemorating this special day and expressing gratitude for Malaysia and the memories shared.                             

  2. Eligibility:
    • Must be a Malaysian citizen.
    • Not a recipient of the TalentCorp Grant Award.
    • Attend all three days of the conference.
    • Present at the Malaysia Day celebration on the conference’s final day.
    • Registered as a participant (Registration link).
    • Return flight tickets must be for activities that enhance the Malaysia-Japan relationship in research or industrial settings. A proof of purpose, such as an invitation letter, is required, to encourage the winner to have research activity in Malaysia/Japan.                         

  3. Collection of Entries:
    • Entries will be provided at the registration corner on the third day of the conference, upon presentation of proof of attendance for all three days. Each attendee will receive one entry.                                                                               

  4. Drawing Procedure:
    • Entries will be collected in a designated box.          

  5. Public Drawing:
    • The drawing will be conducted on stage. An invited VIP from MJVC will randomly select one entry from the box.                                                

  6. Verification of Winner:
    • Once a winner is drawn, their eligibility will be verified on the spot. This includes confirming Malaysian citizenship with their identification documents and verifying attendance at the event using their entry ticket.                                                                               

  7. Announcement and Congratulations:
    • The winner will be announced publicly and congratulated, ensuring transparency and excitement for all participants.                                  

  8. Prize Claim:
    • The winner must visit the registration corner before the event concludes to receive a briefing on the reimbursement process.
    • The prize is non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for cash.
    • The treasurer will be present at the registration corner to collect the following info from the winner:
      1. Winner’s full name as per IC
      2. ⁠Bank name (Maybank, CIMB, etc.) 
      3. ⁠Bank account number 
      4. ⁠Winner’s email address (and phone number if necessary) to inform when the fund transfer is completed.                                   

  9. Record Keeping:
    • MJVC will maintain detailed records of the drawing process and winner for auditing purposes and to resolve any potential disputes.                                                                          

  10. Follow-Up:
    • After the event, MJVC will follow up with the winner to ensure they have successfully received the reimbursement.
